-- Scientologist attorney gets her first 'head on a pike' with OC health officer resignation
2020-06-11, Tony Ortega, Underground Bunker
On May 26, we told you about David Miscavige's rising new Scientology star, anti-vaxx "human rights attorney" Leigh Dundas, who is making a name for herself by pretending that public health officials asking people to wear masks to protect against a deadly pandemic is constitutional heresy and is tantamount to murder. It's won her a small legion of fans among the scientifically-challenged, and has garnered her some entertaining mentions in local press articles about protests in various parts of California. And now it turns out that on the very day that our article about Dundas appeared she outdid herself with a fiery display at an Orange County Board of Supervisors meeting that would have major implications.

I was perusing the STAAD website as I sometimes do, and came across this which caught my attention. The theme that scientology is fun is a tough pitch. Sounds all well and good, the old catchphrase used to be "If it's not fun it's not scientology." I am not sure if this was EVER true, but in these days of crush regging, enforced disconnection and endless re-do's of every level of the Bridge, I doubt there are many people, even the hardcore, who would describe scientology as "fun." But it's an appealing concept and makes scientology sound like a good thing.

-- Allison Mack to sex slave on seducing Keith Raniere: 'I give you permission to enjoy it'
2019-06-11, Dianne Lipson, Underground Bunker
Testimony continued this morning with questioning of former sex slave Jaye. Jaye is 29 years old. She grew up in Southern California. She was an actress, model, and a writer. She thought Nxivm would help her. She took the 5-day event and went on and found that it helped her a lot. At one point she took a walk with India Oxenberg, who told her about a secret woman-only society that would build character. Jaye was excited and hoped that it would help her grow.

(Newsweek won the competition for best Justin Bieber-Tom Cruise comparison with this shot) Yesterday, the dumbest news story in our stupid era broke out and naturally the media fell all over itself covering it. In a Sunday night tweet, Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber, 25, challenged Tom Cruise, 56, to a fight "in the octagon," and no one really knows why. I wanna challenge Tom Cruise to fight in the octagon. Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?

Sometimes it is instructive to take these quotes at face value. Scientologists do. In fact they are required to do so. They even take them and regurgitate them as pearls of wisdom but apparently never stop to think about what they mean when applied to Hubbard or Scientology. This is a classic example. Hubbard himself couldn't confront psychiatry? Governments? Marriage? He managed to be at shivering effect of all of these subjects and much more. Even BT's. Yet in the eyes of scientologists he was perfect. A virtual God with enormous OT powers.

2019-06-11, Tony Ortega, Underground Bunker
Dianne Lipson was in court again yesterday, and here's her report on the Monday testimony at the Nxivm trial… Morning session: It was still the last bit of direct testimony of the witness. Nicole mentions the girls from Mexico, 15 to 17 years old. They were in Albany for some kind of schooling, and it was set up by Rosa Laura. The contract that Allison Mack's slaves were supposed to sign was shown. It said that what they were doing was voluntary, they were aware of the risks, among the laundry list of risks were physical or psychological injury and economic or emotional loss. There was a no-disclosure and a non-compete agreement, and a transfer agreement related to property. This contract was never signed, as Allison booked a play at that time, and it slipped through the cracks. Nicole requested her collateral after she left. She was trying to trust that they said they would not release it, she knew the company was imploding, but she was still scared. She tried to stay away from everything and get her life together. On the advice of a friend, Nicole emailed Allison to get her collateral back, especially what related to her family. She wrote that she did not want any drama, she had no intention of talking to anybody, she wanted to tie up loose ends. Nicole says the email was forwarded to Clare and another woman, Dawn.

-- The Church of Scientology Literally Pours the Kool Aid
2019-06-11, Jeffrey Augustine, Scientology Money Project
The Church of Scientology's phony "Expose Network" tweeted out this disaster. No one in Scientology's PR department seemed to realize that having Scientologists pour hundreds of cups of Kool Aid would instantly evoke the horrors of Jonestown where 912 people died in a mass cult suicide and execution. The images of the dead and the plastic tubs of poisoned Kool Aid from which they drank at Jonestown are forever burned into the memory of Western Civilization. One of the questions my wife Karen de la Carriere gets asked frequently when she is interviewed is this: Will Scientology end like Jonestown?

-- Tulsi Gabbard Had a Very Strange Childhood
2019-06-11, Kerry Howley, New York Magazine
In 1970, the Honolulu Advertiser published a piece called "One Man Rules Haiku Krishnaites," with the subhead "Absolute power of devotees." In the photo beside the piece, Butler is seated shirtless and smoking, hair skimming his shoulders and a sarong around his waist, staring alluringly into the distance, a mischievous smile on his face. It is the expression of less a guru than a playboy, and this is how Advertiser reporter Janice Wolf depicts him, a handsome dictator with the ability to hypnotize the two dozen 18-to-22-year-olds who live with him in his Quonset hut. One of the girls, an 18-year-old who also happened to have the Sanskrit name Tulsi, says he arranged her marriage to another member of the group. She and another girl, who say they would kill for him, describe his teachings. Among them: "Flowers scream when they're picked. So do trees when they're trimmed." ("Tulsi and Boni were sitting on the lawn chewing blades of grass when they said this," notes Wolf.) Butler taught vegetarianism, sexual conservatism, mind-body dualism, and disinterest in the material world. He taught a virulent homophobia, skepticism of science, and the dangers of public schools. He had been associated with Hare Krishna, and in fact claimed to have been given his Sanskrit name, Siddhaswarupananda Paramahamsa, by the founder of the Hare Krishna movement, but by the time he encountered the Gabbards, he'd started his own group. His teachings revolved around worship of Krishna but differed from those of Hare Krishna, in that he instructed his followers to learn from only a single guru — himself — and did not require them to shave their heads or wear robes. The lack of formal dress allowed the group an anonymity he encouraged. He forbade them from visiting India, which is not typical of Hare Krishna, and, also against Hare Krishna practice, married. His wife was one of his followers, Wai Lana, a popular yoga instructor who later had a long-running instructional yoga series on public television. (Abraham, Tulsi's husband, has helped with filming Wai Lana's videos; his mother also works for her.) Whenever Butler traveled, he'd have the homes he stayed in lined with tinfoil, to protect against electromagnetic radiation.

Outfront Media cancelled a signed contract they had with Phil & Willie Jones to display the couple's "Call Me" ad on a billboard. Now Outfront Media seems to have a contract with the Church of Scientology for a Scientology TV billboard. Jeremy Male, CEO of Outfront Media, earns our "Scientology Corporate Whore" award for June 2018. Enjoy your award Mr. Male. Media buyers everywhere should be cognizant of the disgraceful refusal of your firm to stand up for a fundamental human rights issue in favor of a payday from the Cult of Scientology. The Call Me billboard went up thanks to Lamar Media and Clear Channel taking a stand and not caving into the Scientology Cult. Phil and Willie Jones are among the many brave and good people in this world who will stand up and fight the Church of Scientology's brutal and sadistic policy of Disconnection:

2018-06-11, Tony Ortega, Underground Bunker
We're continuing our series with another book excerpt, this time a wrenching anecdote from Lori Hodgson's recently published memoir, A Mother's Heartbreak: How Scientology Destroyed My Family. Lori's story is pretty familiar to our readers, but if you're new, what you need to know before reading this chapter excerpt is that Lori's children, Jessica and Jeremy, disconnected from her when she left Scientology. The father of the children and Lori's former husband, Jim Leake, is still in the church. For years, Lori has struggled to get any information she can about her kids, and then one night she got a scare in a really unusual way... It was October 18, 2011, a Tuesday evening. I was having dinner with my husband at one of our favorite places in San Jose near our house. During dinner, I glanced down at my cell phone and saw a Facebook notification that my cousin posted. It said, "Moto Friends....please be careful! 2 Major bad accidents in 1 week is too much for me and this time hitting too close to home. Please say a prayer for my cousin in the ER right now! :("

The weekly show where I answer questions from viewers left in the comment section of my Q&A videos or sent to me by email at AskChrisShelton@gmail.com. This week, the questions I answer are: (1) If a Scientologist agreed with most things in Scientology, but not some central principle such as the idea that thetans can't be destroyed or whatever because it wasn't "their truth," would they get pushback from the Church on that or would the church/auditors let it slide? (2) Have you ever at any time along your route of smashing Scientology felt a twinge of guilt, or remorse or caution or that you've gone not only astray from Scientology, but more importantly, astray from honesty and truth?

Rod Keller keeps an eagle eye on Scientology's building projects. He's got a great "Ideal Org" update for us today. In the past year Scientology has opened seven new Ideal Orgs. Budapest and Harlem opened in July 2016, San Diego in November, Auckland in January 2017, San Fernando Valley in March, Miami in April, and Copenhagen in May. Scientology leader David Miscavige wants the Ideal Org openings to be interpreted as Scientology growing as a movement. But there's no evidence that more buildings are producing more new members. After their grand openings, Ideal Orgs gradually become empty after the initial enthusiasm.

-- BILLBOARD 2.0 - Phil and Willie Jones set their sights on Scientology's mecca in Florida
2016-06-11, Tony Ortega, Underground Bunker
Fresh off of their media conquest in Los Angeles, former Scientologists Phil and Willie Jones have a new target for their bright idea to highlight Scientology's toxic "disconnection" policy with a prominent billboard near a major church center. In April, the couple paid for a billboard in the Echo Park neighborhood of L.A. after crowdfunding about $12,000, in large part with the help of the readers of this website. The billboard had a positive message rather than a critical one, asking members of Scientology to call their loved ones. It also provided a link to a website that explained how the church splits up families by enforcing disconnection. It's disconnection that keeps Phil and Willie from seeing their own two grown children, Emily and Mike, who are both workers in Scientology's "Sea Organization," which asks its members to sign billion-year contracts and work for pennies an hour.

Ron Hubbard was responsible for the church's most nefarious plots against is own members... As a dishonest, misleading, and predatory organization, the Church of Scientology operates successfully only because it has manipulated Western legal systems and contract law in order to gain unfair advantages for itself. These unfair advantages serve to harm Scientologists through legal, financial, and spiritual means. In this article, we explore the efforts of L. Today I want to talk to you about the Church of Scientology's legal and covert operations division, the Office of Special Affairs. This is the part of the Church tasked with dealing with critics and those who speak out publicly against Scientology. News came out recently that they have been working overtime in an effort to fulfill L. Ron Hubbard's orders to rain fire and brimstone down on critics and ruin them utterly. Hubbard made it clear in numerous places that he did not take criticism well, going all the way back to his days in the university. He tells many stories in his lectures of times when his professors or fellow writers or editors were critical of his work and how he blasted them with his fiery temper and quick wit, making sure they would never come at him again.

A judge upheld Casey Kasem's health directive to stop the radio legend's nutrition and hydration during an ex parte hearing held Wednesday in Los Angeles. The move by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel S. Murphy reverses a decision he'd handed down Monday ordering the continued feeding and hydration of the 82-year-old, at the request of his wife, while he's in hospice care in Washington state. Jean Kasem, married to Casey since 1980, has been feuding with the radio icon's three children by his first wife. Murphy also decided that Kerri Kasem would remain her father's temporary conservator.

"Kerri has, for a number of years, made a living doing nude or scantily clad modeling. While I will not now share the seedy and demeaning pictures that Kerri posed for to receive money, a simple Internet search under 'Kerri Kasem nude' will reveal pornographic photo after photo of Kerri, either nude or scantily clad, and many photos of Kerri engaging in sex acts.… Her true motive is to get back at her father and to be appointed to a position of influence over him where she can alter his estate plan and have his money go to her and her church of Scientology." -- OKLAHOMA EMPANELS GRAND JURY TO INVESTIGATE SCIENTOLOGY'S DRUG REHAB
2014-06-11, Tony Ortega, Underground Bunker
Eric Tenorio The Underground Bunker has learned that a multi-county Oklahoma state grand jury has been empaneled to look into criminal insurance fraud allegations against Scientology's flagship drug rehab facility, Narconon Arrowhead. Scientology's celebrities — Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and Kirstie Alley — have each promoted Scientology's drug rehab network, Narconon, as a model program. But revelations about Narconon's deceptive business model — that it offers Scientology training rather than drug counseling, for example — has resulted in an increasing number of law enforcement investigations and civil lawsuits around the country. The network's flagship facility, Narconon Arrowhead in eastern Oklahoma, has especially been under scrutiny after three patients died in a nine-month period in 2011 and 2012, resulting in county and state investigations of the facility. Last year, a similar Narconon center in the Atlanta area was shut down following a wrongful death lawsuit and a state and county investigation of insurance and credit card fraud, which is ongoing. Now, we've learned that the state of Oklahoma is also investigating insurance fraud allegations regarding Narconon Arrowhead.

-- When is a religious ad not a religious ad?
2012-06-11, Scoop News
Maori TV has reneged on a commitment to be more transparent when broadcasting advertisements funded by the Church of Scientology. Following a complaint, Maori TV agreed in late May to make it clear that ads broadcast for drugfreeworld were funded by the Church of Scientology. However the drugfreeworld ads continue to play without any indication of their religious basis. A formal complaint has now been laid with the ASA, who consider breeches of the advertising standards

Here is the Freedumb crew harassing Mike and his business associates yesterday: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXFcQLJ4FX8] Today Leblow and four goons in baby blue anti-Marty t-shirts and head cameras were chased out of my neighborhood by the neighbors, then chased away from Monique's former place of employment by her friends and erstwhile co-workers.

Here is the Freedumb crew harassing Mike and his business associates yesterday: Today Leblow and four goons in baby blue anti-Marty t-shirts and head cameras were chased out of my neighborhood by the neighbors, then chased away from Monique's former place of employment by her friends and erstwhile co-workers. While Miscavige has jacked the daily PI budget on us to close to twenty thousand a day, his minions are apparently fixin' to renege on yet another of his big shot words; namely, a promise to pay the City of Clearwater fines for delaying his SP building for a decade:

This is an example of how the Church of Scientology under its leader David Miscavige, spends its parishioners' donations in a ridiculous manner.

-- 7 The Purification Rundown
2009-06-11, Jonny Jacobsen, Infinite Complacency
Day 4 (June 2): As the Paris court considered the high doses of vitamins used in the programme, an expert witness dismissed Scientology's Purification Rundown as quackery. Proceedings in the second week of the trial of six Scientologists and two Scientology organisations in France opened with a complaint from the lawyers of defendant Sabine Jacquart. Jacquart had, they said, been subject to harassment outside the court, which they described as an unacceptable attempt at intimidation.

-- School unaware of link to Scientologists
2008-06-11, Janet Steffenhagen, Vancouver Sun
A Vancouver principal said his school was uninformed when it invited a group affiliated with the Church of Scientology to speak to a student assembly last month about human rights. John Bevacqua, of St. Patrick regional secondary school, said he hadn't been aware that Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI) is part of the Scientology movement until it was brought to his attention by a staff member shortly after the group finished its presentation.

-- Scientology: "Respect the religious beliefs of others."
2005-06-11, Asian Tribune
Scientology did not come to Sri Lanka-or anywhere else-to change anyone's religion, declares Jon E. von Gunten Director, Scientology Parishioners League, while purporting to refute a news item that appeared in the Asian Tribune. In his email letter written with the intention of clarifying the position of Scientologists, he further states:" Scientology is a group of discoveries about the human mind and spirit that people of any religion can use to increase their abilities to deal calmly with situations that previously upset them, to accomplish more in their day, and to peacefully communicate ideas to others.

-- Church withdraws venue change request
2003-06-11, Robert Farley, St. Petersburg Times
The church is defending itself in the wrongful-death lawsuit filed by the estate of former Scientologist Lisa McPherson, who died in 1995 after being cared for by church staffers. The motion for a change of venue came in a related matter, a countersuit against the McPherson estate and its attorney, Ken Dandar. The church alleges that Dandar improperly attempted to add Scientology leader David Miscavige as a defendant in the wrongful- death suit. Luke Lirot, another attorney for the McPherson estate, seized on Baird's letter as justification for the case to be reassigned to a new judge in St. Petersburg.
