Former Scientology mouthpiece Tommy Davis has a new look and a new friend in his life - 2018-04-25
Even seven years after Tommy Davis was bounced from his job as chief spokesman for the Church of Scientology, the public still has a huge fascination for him. We're often asked, what's happening with that guy? So over the last few years we've provide regular updates about his jobs and what he's been up to. And now that he has a new look and, apparently, a new girlfriend, we knew our readers were going to want to know about it.
For those just catching up, let's quickly go once more through the rundown: Tommy is the son of actress Anne Archer and was brought up in Scientology, eventually becoming a sort of go-fer and handler for actor Tom Cruise. By the mid-2000s, Davis had become the public face of Scientology as its spokesman, sparring with the likes of ABC's Martin Bashir and the BBC's John Sweeney as Scientology leader David Miscavige pursued a more aggressive approach to the media. By 2011, however, we noticed that he'd seemed to have disappeared. He turned up in Austin, where his wife Jessica Feshbach's family had some property, and in 2013 Davis testified in a deposition that he was "on leave" from his job in the Sea Organization but was still a member of the Church of Scientology.
The next year, in 2014, the Davises moved to Los Angeles, as Tommy found work at billionaire real estate investor Tom Barrack's Colony Capital. (Tommy's father, William Davis, a wealthy real estate investor who died in 2015, was a close friend to Barrack). But then in February 2016, Tommy left his job working for Barrack and became "general manager North America" for Australian billionaire James Packer, helping to run Packer's Hollywood studio, RatPac Entertainment.
