On Monday, we heard from a Los Angeles reader that Scientology had done something kind of unusual, changing its annual "Maiden Voyage" schedule in order to create a last-minute "convention," scheduled for this Saturday on L. Ron Hubbard Way, as well as an "IDEAL USA" confab that was held this past weekend at the Valley Org.

Our correspondent suspected that the hurried reschedulings and breathless promotion was really about a desperate effort to recruit new staff members for some "Ideal Orgs" that are about to open in parts of the country almost bereft of Scientologists.

Perhaps that's the reason, perhaps not. But another LA-area reader pitched in with another peek inside what Scientology is up to: The agenda for this past weekend's shindig at the Valley Org. We found it pretty fascinating, and we knew you'd want to see it as well.
