The House justice committee has submitted a report to the Commons calling for Alberta Conservative MP Michael Cooper's quotations from the manifesto of an anti-Muslim fanatic who killed 51 people in a mosque attack in New Zealand to be expunged from the committee record.

But MPs on Thursday questioned whether the report will reach a vote in the House because of a flood of voting now underway as the government presses to get key bills through Parliament before the June 21 summer recess and a federal election in October.

A motion for the Commons to concur with a report from committee activities normally takes up to three hours of debate before a vote, and the committee decision, approved by Liberals and the NDP, is being questioned privately even by Liberals in a backroom debate over censorship in Parliament.
