Narconon officials swore Friday they would not give up their drive to open a controversial drug and alcohol treatment center in Chilocco.

"It's a war (on drugs)," said center President Gary Smith. "We will fight wherever we have to."

When asked at a Friday afternoon press conference if he would open the center without state permission, Smith simply repeated, "We are going to continue to fight the war."
