Scientology's obsession with City Councilman Mark Bunker is truly off the charts - 2020-06-08
It probably would not surprise you to learn that once Mark Bunker was elected to the Clearwater city council in March, Scientology began obsessively submitting records requests to the city to get copies of every single communication Bunker has made either on his public or private devices and social media accounts.
As a journalist, we're very much in favor of public officials having to turn over public documents. But Scientology has always used public records requests as a weapon in its obsessive Fair Game campaigns against enemies. Indeed, Scientology's most famous espionage and infiltration scheme, the Snow White Project of the 1970s, began in part as a public records search that extended into illegal activities.
As part of its obsessive interest in Mark Bunker, it asked for his postings here at the Underground Bunker, and so Mark sent us an email about his Disqus postings and asked for help retrieving them. In that email, he attached Scientology's most recent request from Flag Service Organization secretary Glen Stilo.
