We recently came into possession of a remarkable cache of Scientology materials from the mid 1980s, and the condition they are in is pretty stunning. Some of this stuff looks like it just came from the printer.

A former member who was going through the "Operating Thetan" or OT levels at the time had the foresight to collect a lot of the stuff they were being inundated with by Scientology's various divisions, and thought we might like to see it.

It provides a pretty great snapshot of Scientology in the years when sales of Dianetics were exploding thanks to the erupting volcano TV ad designed by Jefferson Hawkins, and a few years before the Time magazine cover story about the "thriving cult of greed and power" in 1991 that would mark the beginning of Scientology's long, slow decline.
