Full title | To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to improve immigration law enforcement within the interior of the United States, and for other purposes. |
---|---|
Introduced | Jun 6, 2013 |
Status | Died in a previous Congress |
Sponsor | Trey Gowdy, Representative for South Carolina's 4th congressional district, Republican |
“ | To amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to improve immigration law enforcement within the interior of the United States, and for other purposes. | ” |
This bill caused a widespread outcry among religious groups[2] because it countered what is known as the Leahy-Kyl terrorism-related inadmissibility grounds (TRIG) reforms of 2007[3][4] that allowed refugee exemptions for those seeking a green card with no known ties to terrorism.
