Like its predecessor, the [[:Category:Apollo|Apollo]], the Freewinds has to step lightly at its ports of call depending on which jurisdiction the port falls under. Because of changes in government status, the island of [[:Category:Bonaire|Bonaire]] is now a special municipality, directly part of the Netherlands and under its laws. Since then, the Freewinds has avoided this former favorite port of call.
