Johnson is a staunch supporter of Donald Trump.[1][2] As chairman of the Senate homeland security committee, he launched several investigations into Trump's political opponents, including Joe Biden.[1] In September 2020, after having for months boasted that he was undertaking an investigation that would demonstrate Joe Biden's "unfitness for office", Johnson released a report which found no evidence of wrongdoing by Biden in relation to Ukraine. Johnson's report reiterated allegations which have remained unproven, and many of which had been part of Russian disinformation campaigns.[3]
